IDO World Ballet, Modern and Jazz Championships 2016

The before the last day of IDO World Championships Ballet/Jazz- und Modern Dance held in  Rittal Arena of Wetzlar  were dominated by the rounds of Modern section in ages of Adults2 Groups/Formation, Solo female as well as Jazz Adult2 Formation and Jazz Junior Solo male. The first time this week Korea and Germany could be happy about a gold medal: Kim Min Ah won the competition of Solo female Adults and "InTakt" got the title world champion for Germany.

With this motto Heidi Estler president of Dance Sport Germany opens the final rounds on seventh day of IDO World Championships in Ballet/Jazz- and Modern Dance in Rittal Arena of Wetzlar. She sent a “Big Thanks” to more than 100 unsalaried helpers of this well organized international event. It should not be all.

The medal hopes increases….

After the final rounds of Children in on Thursday, the tournaments of Modern section starts completely new. Just another time since beginning of the world championships the German delegation might hope for a medal rang. Up to now only the performance of Arabesque Ballet (Groups Adults Ballet) were honored with a bronze medal.

That might be the best description of German results on fifth day of Word Championship in Wetzlar. The only finalists of german participants has been Lisa Geis/Laura Posavec from JTC Großostheim. They just qualified on Wednesday evening in Duos Juniors of Modern. Five Duos danced the last round and the final result was very close. Finaly they reached the fourth place just in front of their rivals from Norway.

World Champion in Female Solo Modern decision only after Redance

For the first time here in Rittal Arena, no champion has been found after the final round. In category Solo female Juniors Kate Bonello (Canada) and Neja Horvat (Slovenian) had to dance again in a Redance to get the covet Gold medal. Finaly Neja Horvat got the Title World Champion with a decision four-to-three

First day of JMD-WCC changed to the Rittal Arena

The third day of JMD-WCC was also the first day the competitions were held the Rittal Arena of Wetzlar. This day brought Serbia a rain of medals, three times Gold, two times Silver and at least once Bronce.

On the occasion of the IDO World Championship Ballett/Jazz- and Modern Dance the Lord Major invited to a welcome in the “Gartensaal der Stadthallen Wetzlar”.  Exactly at 7:00 pm the leader of town welcomes the Vice-Presidents of IDO (International Dance Organization) Dr. Velibor Srdic, Mrs. Kirsten Dan Jensen (Executive Secretary IDO), Mr Ralf Josat (Präsident TAF Germany), Mr. Thorsten Süfke, the DTV-Responsible of Jazz- and Modern Dance as well as the President of the regional association of Hessen, Mr. Karl-Peter Befort.

Tickets at box offices

The pre-sale for this year's IDO World Ballet, Jazz and Modern has been successfull. Nevertheless, if you decide spontanelously to visit the champs you still will be able to buy tickets at the box offices.

Please keep in mind that 8-day-tickets are available online or at the box office at Rittal Arena only (not at Stadthallen Wetzlar).

The one-day-ticket for tomorrow and Monday (23rd/24th October - Stadthallen Wetzlar) cannot be purchased online. The admission is 10 euros, reduced 8 euros.

The box offices open at 8:30am every day.

Free admission for kids/discount for students

Children up to the age of 6 are not required to have a ticket, however do not have their own seat.
Students up to the age of 18 (with proof of entitlement) get a discount of 50% on all tickets - starting on Tuesday at the box office of Rittal Arena.
